In times of exceptional growth of communications links and electricity conduits the protection of these is of vital importance for almost every company and individual, and for society as a whole. It is evident that present communications networks will soon become obsolete and that the capabilities of communications conduits laid alongside road links will be, and in some places already are, surpassed.
The price of protection pipes is small compared to the overall costs of cable laying; and excavating cable ditches and other accompanying construction works are a huge infrastructural hindrance, especially in urban areas. For this reason, it is useful to consider laying additional empty pipes already during construction of highways or during the initial excavation.
